Time Has Made a Change in Me Lyrics

Song by The Oak Ridge Boys

Time has made a change
Since my childhood days
Many of my friends have gone away
Some I never more in this life will see
Time has made a change in me

Time has made a change in the old home place
Time has made a change in each smiling face
And I know my friends can plainly see
That time has made a change in me

In my childhood days I was well and strong
I could climb the hill sides all day long
I am not today what I used to be
‘Cause time has made a change in me

When I reach my home in that land somewhere
With my friends who wait to
Meet me over there
Free from pain and care I’ll forever be
Since time has made a change in m

Elvira Lyrics

Song by The Oak Ridge Boys

Elvira
Elvira
My heart’s on fire for Elvira

With eyes that look like heaven
Lips like cherry wine
That girl can sure enough make my little light shine
I get a funny feelin’ up and down my spine
‘Cause I know that my Elvira’s mine

Elvira
Elvira
My heart’s on fire for Elvira
Giddy up, um-poppa-um-poppa, mow, mow
Giddy up, um-poppa-um-poppa, mow, mow
High-ho silver, away

Tonight I’m gonna meet her at the hungry house café
I’m gonna give her all the love I can
Yes, I am
She’s gonna jump and holler
I’ve saved up my last two dollar
We’re gonna search and find that preacher man

Then I’ll be singin’
Elvira
Elvira
My heart’s on fire for Elvira
Giddy up, um-poppa-um-poppa, mow, mow
Giddy up, um-poppa-um-poppa, mow, mow
High-ho silver, away

Elvira
Elvira
My heart’s on fire for Elvira
Giddy up, um-poppa-um-poppa, mow, mow
Giddy up, um-poppa-um-poppa, mow, mow
High-ho silver, away

Elvira (yeah)
Elvira
My heart’s on fire for Elvira
Giddy up, um-poppa-um-poppa, mow, mow
Giddy up, um-poppa-um-poppa, mow, mow
High-ho silver, away
Play again
Whoo!

Don’t Cry Joni Lyrics

Conway Twitty, Joni Lee

Jimmy please say you’ll wait for me
I’ll grow up someday you’ll see
Savin’ all my kisses just for you
Signed with love forever true

Joni was the girl who lived next door
I’ve known her I guess 10 years or more
Joni wrote me a note one day
And this is what she had to say

Jimmy please say you’ll wait for me
I’ll grow up someday you’ll see
Savin’ all my kisses just for you
Signed with love forever true

Slowly I read her note once more
Then I went over to the house next door
Her teardrops fell like rain that day
When I told Joni what I had to say

Joni, Joni, please don’t cry
You’ll forget me by and by
You’re just fifteen I’m twenty two
Joni I just can’t wait for you

Soon I left our little home town
Got me a job and tried to settle down
But her words kept haunting my memory
The words that Joni said to me
Jimmy please say you’ll wait for me
I’ll grow up someday you’ll see
Savin’ all my kisses just for you
Signed with love forever true

I packed my clothes and I caught a plane
I had to see Joni, I had to explain
How my heart was filled with her memory
And ask my Joni if she’d marry me

I ran all the way to the house next door
But things weren’t like they were before
My teardrops fell like rain that day
When I heard what Joni had to say

Jimmy Jimmy please don’t cry
You’ll forget me by and by
It’s been five years since you’ve been gone
Jimmy I married your best friend John.
