This a wonderful moment happened in California when Merle Haggard sings the classic “Mama tried” to his Mom. “Mama Tried” is a song written and recorded by American country music artist Merle Haggard and The Strangers. It was released in July 1968 as the first single and title track from the album Mama Tried. The song became one of the cornerstone songs of his career. It won the Grammy Hall of Fame Award in 1999, and was selected for preservation in the National Recording Registry due to its “cultural, historic, or artistic significance” on March 23, 2016, just 14 days before Haggard’s death.

Scott Cooke McCreery was born on October 9, 1993. An American country music singer. He rose to fame after winning the tenth season of American Idol on May 25, 2011. His debut studio album, Clear as Day, was released in October 2011 and was certified platinum in the United States. The album includes the top 20 country songs, “I Love You This Big” and “The Trouble with Girls”. McCreery began singing as a child in Garner, North Carolina. School performances eventually gave way to local competitions, and McCreery won a singing contest in the nearby town of Clayton before trying out for American Idol as a 16-year-old. Auditioning with Josh Turner’s “Your Man,” he made good use of his country twang and deep baritone vocals, prompting the judges to compare him to Randy Travis. McCreery passed the audition, became an audience favorite, and eventually won the competition in May 2011. In October 2013, he returned with his second official studio album, See You Tonight. Produced by veteran producer Frank Rogers, the album moved McCreery into bright contemporary country-pop. It was a success, debuting at number one on Billboard’s Country Albums chart and earning McCreery’s the Breakthrough Artist Award at the 2013 American Country Awards.

Country music is alive at the popular reality TV, America’s Got Talent 2022! Now on it’s Season 17, a group of three young women country singers auditioned. They called their group Chapel Hart and walked confidently on stage for an amazing audition. Singing their original song “You Can Have Him, Jolene”, a tribute to their favorite country music superstar, Dolly Parton. They literally own the stage! Judges, Simon Cowell, Sofía Vergara, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel, host Terry Crews, and the live audience were stunned! Watch how Chapel Hart’s audition unfolded below:

Simon Cowell, known for his notoriously tough critic was amazed and said: “Trust me, I needed you today,” he said. “That was fantastic. I love you.” Sofia said the performance “was perfect.” “You guys look like you’ve been doing this for a long time, and I’m so proud of you guys.”

One of the members during the interview said: “We’ve been trying to break into Nashville for the last couple of years, but it’s been kind of hard. Country music doesn’t always look like us.” But now, they just made history for themselves. They had the host and the 4 judges pressing the golden buzzer simultaneously.
