Legendary country singer Merle Haggard recorded this classic gospel song Why Me that was originally written by Kris Kristoferson. “Why Me” was Kristofferson’s lone major country hit as a solo recording artist, reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart in July 1973. It’s a beautiful gospel song and really connects to our souls. Be blessed!

Why Me Lyrics
Why me, Lord? What have I ever done
To deserve even one of the pleasures I’ve known?
Tell me, Lord, what did I ever do to be worthy
Of You and the kindness you’ve shown?
Lord help me, Jesus, I’ve wasted it
So help me, Jesus, I know what I am
Now that I know that I’ve needed you
So help me, Jesus, my soul’s in your hand
Try me, Lord, if you think there’s a way
I can try to repay all I’ve taken from you
Maybe, Lord, I can show someone else
What I’ve been through myself on my way back to you
Lord help me, Jesus, I’ve wasted it
So help me, Jesus, I know what I am
Now that I know that I’ve needed you
So help me, Jesus, my soul’s in your hand
[Outro]
Jesus, my soul’s in your hand

Omg.
I’m thinking I’ve merle.
I’m smoking a joint.
I’m sad yet I’m happy.
Because I just understood..
I asked merle to come to Stompin Tom’s.
He did.
No one noticed.
I pissed My pants.
I understand
