This is one of George Strait’s latest performances. Is Anybody Goin’ to San Antone

Charley Pride

Rain drippin’ off the brim of my hat
It sure is cold today
And here I am walkin’ down 66
Wish she hadn’t done me that way

Sleepin’ under a table in a roadside park
A man could wake up dead
But it sure seems warmer than it did
Sleepin’ in our king sized bed

Is anybody goin’ to San Antone
Or Phoenix, Arizona?
Any place is all right as long as I
Can forget I’ve ever known her

Wind whippin’ down the neck of my shirt
Like I ain’t got nothin’ on
But I’d rather fight, the wind and rain
Than what I’ve been fightin’ at home

Yonder comes a truck with the U.S. Mail
People writin’ letters back home
Tomorrow she’ll probably want me back
But I’ll still be just as gone

Is anybody goin’ to San Antone
Or Phoenix, Arizona?
Any place is all right as long as I
Can forget I’ve ever known her
Any place is all right as long as I
Can forget I’ve ever known her

Write This Down Lyrics

George Strait

I never saw the end in sight; fools are kind of blind.
Thought everything was going alright, but I was running out of time.
‘Cause you had one foot out the door, I swear I didn’t see
But if you’re really going away, here’s some final words from me.

Baby, write this down, take a little note to remind you in case you didn’t know,
Tell yourself I love you and I don’t want you to go, write this down.
Take my words, read ’em every day, keep ’em close by, don’t you let ’em fade away,
So you’ll remember what I forgot to say, write this down.

I’ll sign it at the bottom of the page, I’ll swear under oath
‘Cause every single word is true, and I think you need to know,
So use it as a bookmark, stick it on your ‘frigerator door,
Hang it in a picture frame up above the mantel where you’ll see it for sure.

You can find a chisel, I can find a stone.
Folks will be reading these words, long after we’re gone.

Oh I love you and I don’t want you to go, baby write this down.

Watch George Strait’s “Love Without End, Amen” Live From The Astrodome Concert

Here is a song that propelled George Strait to be one of the icons of Country Music. “Love Without End, Amen” is a song written by Aaron Barker. It was released in April 1990 as the lead-off single from the album Livin’ It Up and became Strait’s biggest hit ever. The song spent five weeks at Number One on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks. This song is George Strait’s first multi-week No. 1 single, as each of his previous 18 Number Ones had only spent one week at the top. Watch him perform live at The Astrodome concert infront of very special guests.

George Strait is the undeniable “King of Country Music.” His music career spans more than 30 years; includes 60 No. 1 singles, more than any other artist in any genre and boasts 33 platinum or multi-platinum-selling albums, more than any country artist and third across all genres behind only The Beatles and Elvis Presley. Love Without End, Amen Lyrics

George Strait

I got sent home from school one day with a shiner on my eye
Fightin’ was against the rules and it didn’t matter why
When dad got home I told that story just like I’d rehearsed
Then stood there on those tremblin’ knees and waitin’ for the worst

And he said Let me tell you a secret about a father’s love
A secret that my daddy said was just between us
He said daddies don’t just love their children every now and then
It’s a love without end, amen
It’s a love without end, amen

When I became a father in the spring of ’81
There was no doubt that stubborn boy was just like my father’s son
And when I thought my patience had been tested to the end
I took my daddy’s secret and passed it on to him

I said Let me tell you a secret about a father’s love
A secret that my daddy said was just between us
He said daddies don’t just love their children every now and then
It’s a love without end, amen
It’s a love without end, amen

Last night I dreamed I’d died and stood outside those pearly gates
When suddenly I realized there must be some mistake
If they know half the things I’ve done, they’ll never let me in
Then somewhere from the other side, I heard these words again

And they said Let me tell you a secret about a father’s love
A secret that my daddy said was just between us
He said daddies don’t just love their children every now and then
It’s a love without end, amen
It’s a love without end, amen
