Amarillo by Morning Lyrics

George Strait

Amarillo by mornin’
Up from San Antone
Everything that I got
Is just what I’ve got on

When that Sun is high
In that Texas sky
I’ll be buckin’ at the county fair
Amarillo by mornin’
Amarillo I’ll be there

They took my saddle in Houston
Broke my leg in Santa Fe
Lost my wife and a girlfriend
Somewhere along the way

But I’ll be lookin’ for eight
When they pull that gate
And I hope that
Judge ain’t blind
Amarillo by mornin’Amarillo’s on my mind

Amarillo by mornin’
Up from San Antone
Everything that I got
Is just what I’ve got on

I ain’t got a dime
But what I’ve got is mine
I ain’t rich
But Lord, I’m free

Amarillo by mornin’
Amarillo’s where I’ll be
Amarillo by mornin’
Amarillo’s where I’ll be

Check Yes or No Lyrics

Song by George Strait

It started way back in third grade
I used to sit beside Emmylou Hayes
A pink dress, a matching bow in her ponytail
She kissed me on the school bus but told me not to tell
Next day I chased her ’round the playground
‘Cross the monkey bars to the merry-go-round
And Emmylou got caught passing me a note
Before the teacher took it I read what she wrote

“Do you love me? Do you wanna be my friend?
And if you do
Well then don’t be afraid to take me by the hand
If you want to
I think this is how love goes
Check yes or no”

Now we’re grown up and she’s my wife
Still like two kids with stars in our eyes
Ain’t much changed, I still chase Emmylou
Up and down the hall, around the bed in our room

Last night I took her out in a white limousine
Twenty years together she still gets to me
Can’t believe it’s been that long ago
When we got started with just a little note

“Do you love me? Do you wanna be my friend?
And if you do
Well then don’t be afraid to take me by the hand
If you want to
I think this is how love goes
Check yes or no”

“Do you love me? Do you wanna be my friend?
And if you do
Well then don’t be afraid to take me by the hand
If you want to
I think this is how love goes
Check yes or no”

Check yes or no
Check yes or no
Check yes or no
Check yes or no

Where Have You Gone Lyrics

Alan Jackson

It’s been way too long since you slipped away
I just can’t forget, I can’t pretend it’s okay
No other one could ever replace you
So I’ll keep on believing and dreaming of you

Soft steel guitar, oh, how I’ve missed you
Words from the heart let me hear you again
Sounds from the soul fiddle I need you
Sweet country music where have you gone?

Sweet country music please come back home
The songs from your memory I cling to today
I won’t let them leave me, I won’t let them fade
I don’t care what they do, you’re still the one
And I’ll be here in Nashville ’til you return

Soft steel guitar, oh, how I’ve missed you
Words from the heart let me hear you again
Sounds from the soul fiddle I need you
Sweet country music where have you gone?
Sweet country music please come back home
Sweet country music where have you gone?
The airwaves are waiting, please come back home

Here’s an older version of Alan Jackson of this song…

I’d Love You All Over Again Lyrics

Has it been ten years
Since we said I do
I’ve always heard marriage made one seem like two
But you’re looking better than you did back then
You still make this old heart give in

And if I had it to do all over
I’d do it all over again
If tomorrow I found one more chance to begin
I’d love you all over again

The preacher man said till death do us part
That seemed like forever to a young man’s heart
Now the days seem much shorter
The longer we love
And the memories just keep adding up

If tomorrow I found one more chance to begin
I’d love you all over again

If We Make It Through December Lyrics

Merle Haggard

If we make it through December
Everything’s gonna be all right, I know
It’s the coldest time of winter
And I shiver when I see the falling snow
If we make it through December
Got plans to be in a warmer town come summertime
Maybe even California
If we make it through December, we’ll be fine

Got laid off down at the factory
And their timing’s not the greatest in the world
Heaven knows I been working hard
Wanted Christmas to be right for daddy’s girl
I don’t mean to hate December
It’s meant to be the happy time of year
And my little girl don’t understand
Why daddy can’t afford no Christmas here

If we make it through December
Everything’s gonna be all right, I know
It’s the coldest time of winter
And I shiver when I see the falling snow
If we make it through December
Got plans to be in a warmer town come summertime
Maybe even California
If we make it through December, we’ll be fine
